Walter Benjamin’s Arcades Project written and compiled as a fragmentary collection of quotes and commentary characterizing the rise of modern European urban culture. Arcades Project was compiled and published after Benjamin’s death. His project made of montage and juxtapositions, anticipated nonlinear hyper-textual writing. Book of Phloems, aims to characterize and describe twenty-first century plant-orientated urban culture growing out of the ruins of the twentieth century. Benjamin’s hyper-textual method will be emulated by a nonlinear online publication including quotes, commentary, images, and hyperlinks.
